Your Teammate in Raising a Well-Mannered, Confident Dog

Puppies are A LOT

Not only are you cleaning up potty messes and actively bleeding on a daily basis, but you probably know there’s a lot to do in a limited amount of time to help ensure your puppy has the best chance of growing into a confident, happy adult dog and family member.

All while you’re stuck at home because they haven’t completed their vaccinations. That’s a lot for anyone, even professional trainers!

Team up with me for help tackling your puppy to-do list and preventing problems before they start!

Ways We Can Team Up

  • Coaching

I teach you how to train your dog

For the guardians who have the time and the desire to be in the driver’s seat of their dog’s training

We meet one hour a week for 2-4 weeks. In between sessions you practice to prepare for the next step

  • Day Training

    Training done for you

For busy, overwhelmed guardians or those who just prefer the hard part be done by a pro

I come to your house and train your dog three times a week for an hour. At the end of each week, we meet for an hour-long transfer session, where I teach you how to maintain your dog’s new skills. Each week is built on the next

FAQ’S

  • Dog guardians play a supportive, but key role when it comes to day training. Their job is to put the management suggestions into place and maintain the skills handed over at the weekly transfer sessions

  • In private coaching the owner learns how to build and maintain new behaviors. Between sessions, they practice to prepare the dog for the next step of the training plan

  • Because training involves a lot of repetition broken down into incremental steps, day training packages focus on a max of 2-3 skills. We would rather train fewer, stronger behaviors, than multiple weaker ones.

  • For both day training and coaching packages, training will take place in your home and/or in public spaces as the training requires

  • While you certainly can be, your presence is not required. Your participation is only required for the weekly transfer and subsequent follow up sessions. Your participation in transfer and follow up sessions is necessary for the training to be effective.

  • I strictly use positive reinforcement training methods. This means your dog will receive something they like when they get it right and either no reward or loss of access to something they want when they get it wrong. I do not use use tools that rely on pain or force.

  • Day training and coaching sessions take place Monday through Friday between approximately 12:30-6:30 depending on the day of the week

  • Day training and transfer sessions are all one hour in length.

Package lengths vary from 3-10 weeks

  • No, I do not take separation anxiety cases or serious aggression cases (history of damaging bites). I know amazing trainers who do. Reach out and I will connect you with someone who can help

  • In the beginning stages, consistent rewards will be necessary to keep new behaviors strong. Just like us, dogs don’t work for free! After a robust reward history is built, rewards can be given on a more intermittent basis. Rewards can come in many forms; food, toys, access to resources. As long as it’s motivating to the dog, it can be used to reinforce desired behavior.
