Private Dog Training & Behavior Consulting in the East Bay

Taking you from “what have I gotten into?” to “I got this!”

You want the best for your dog but something is getting in the way. Whether it’s the overwhelm of being a new dog guardian, the embarrassment or isolation you feel due to your dog’s lack of manners or reactivity, my job is to help you enjoy life with your dog (and I’ve got 20 years experience to bring to the table).

Ready to love your dog and their behavior?

Have a lot on your plate already without adding “professional dog trainer?” Our day training programs keep you involved, but leave the heavy lifting to us.

What do you need a teammate for?

  • “Katy is skilled, patient and professional. I am very satisfied with the results of the training and would recommend Katy to someone seeking training for their dog.”

    Ray with Apollo

  • “Katy has been a friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate trainer as we helped our new five-year old dog, Bella, adjust to our home after several traumatic changes in her life. Katy is unwaveringly positive in every interaction with Bella and with us, full of praise and firm in her patience.”

    Carol with Bella

  • "Katy was really helpful in guiding both us and our dogs towards a calmer introduction to visitors to our home. We have managed to reduce the chaos significantly."

With 20 years experience and a commitment to force-free training, Katy helps dog moms and dads love life with their dogs again.

In addition to earning a certification in training and counseling from the Academy for Dog Trainers, Katy brings strong people skills and a warm, approachable style to every client interaction.

Dog training is an unregulated industry; this means anyone can call themselves a dog trainer. Just like having teeth is not sufficient criteria for a dentist, a formal education is also what you should look for in a dog trainer.

And because it’s unregulated, transparency is key. I will never rely on pain or force to affect behavior change. Learning should never hurt.

Are you ready to invest in a dog who:

Can greet people politely?

Can come along on off leash adventures?

You can enjoy peaceful neighborhood walks with?

You can take to the cafe or brewery?
